South Hobart Community Bushfire Forum Wednesday 9th December 7:00pm, South Hobart Community Centre, Darcy St. A Community Bushfire Forum will be held at the South Hobart Community Centre on Wednesday 9th December at 7:00pm. Speakers from the Tasmanian Fire Service will share the lessons learnt from the February Victorian Bushfires and encourage us to prepare effective bush fire plans in preparation for the imminent bush fire season. Essential for all South Hobart residents - if you are not directly at risk from fire, then potential for fire from ember attack is high for all residents. Experts are already comparing conditions this year to those of 1967 and warning residents to be extremely cautious this season. Consider the effort, energy and resources required to re-establish your home. Protecting it from destruction is a fundamental part of being a sustainable household and community. Act now and attend this important seminar. This is a joint initiative of the South Hobart Progress Association and the South Hobart Sustainable Community.
