A discussion on action in a changing climate

6 pm-7.30 pm, Thursday 22nd August, Sustainable Living Tasmania, 1st Floor, 71 Murray St.

Over the last few years. Hobart citizens have played a strong role in efforts to reduce their carbon footprint and adjust to climate change. Meanwhile Climate Change science has been advancing rapidly along with undeniable evidence. This talk aims to fan the flames of climate action in our community by providing clarity on current climate science, celebrating local progress, exploring visions for the future and uniting in action. We all have many opportunities to make a deep and meaningful contribution to this global issue and together we can make a real difference.

Stuart Godfrey, a retired CSIRO climate scientist, will describe the new science, and its implications for concerned citizens.

Reuben Parker-Greer, a local green thumb with a passion for sustainability, will be talking about local action on climate change. Including what's been achieved locally and some of the many opportunities for creating a more sustainable future.

Their talks will occupy about half an hour in total, leaving plenty of time for discussion.
