Winter has finally arrived but there are many great things to draw you out and about in South Hobart over the coming month, from theater events, a new art space, to Bush Adventures, working bees and the sometimes necessary meetings:

South Hobart Sustainable Community meeting Tues 17 June, 8pm. All are welcome, we will be discussing our current and future projects. Contact secretary@southhobart.org for details.

Community garden working bee Sun 15th June from 10-12. Our aim is to do final preparations for the Shed and Water Tank installation and some general garden weeding, composting and pruning maintenance. Bring along a tool if you can.

Science theatre piece Faraday’s Candle (directed by Chris KP) at All Saints Church at 7pm June 12. Tickets $10, available online via www.WhySci.org.au.

Growers Gathering Sun 15 June, 3pm, garden address to be provided here soon, for afternoon tea. Bring something to share for afternoon tea, and any garden things you have extra to swap or share - excess harvest, seeds, seedlings, plants. Most important of all is to bring your garden experience to share, whether it's wise or just sprouting, and bring yourself and be part of our warm community.

Bush Adventures Winter Program is full of great activities in our neighbourhood, for all ages. Find out what quolls really get up to, discover the lives and tribulations of Tasmanian beetles, dig into the intriguing world of ants and find out what cats and dogs mean for wildlife in backyards.
